Issue Summary:

Default Catalog other than a Mstr Cat. causes search to fail

Issue Detail:

If you mark a department as the default catalog for either eOrder or eCommerce, then use the search functionality with the FindWhereClause property set versus the FindString property to perform your search you will not get the the expected results in your recordset. To duplicate using the TestCatalogAPI.asp page: Assuming you are using the default data in Catalog Maintenance set up the following search with the search key set to the e.Commerce master Catalog value of 1: 1)Find Search key = 1 2)Find Op Type = 1 3) Find Where Clause = IV00101.ITEMNMBR LIKE '%2%' 4) Click Submit You will see several results returned. Item Number Item Description Item Short Name 128 SDRAM 128 meg SDRAM RAM 24X IDE 24x CD-ROM CD ROM 2536 Digital Answering Machine with Caller ID Ans. Machine 256 SDRAM 256 meg SDRAM RAM 28651 Digital Cordless Headset Phone Phone 32 SDRAM 32 meg SDRAM RAM 3215 Dual Basic Headset Headset 32X IDE 32x CD-ROM CD ROM 3929 Classic Cordless Phone Cordless Phone 4826 Speakerphone/Headset Phone 7123 Fax Machine Fax Machine 8529 Conference Call Station I Conference Call 8620 400 Series Chair Chair 8625 Ecstasy Chair Chair Moving up one level to the Office Equipment department whose value is 2, perform the same search: 1)Find Search key = 2 2)Find Op Type = 1 3) Find Where Clause = IV00101.ITEMNMBR LIKE '%2%' 4) Click Submit No records are returned, however examining the the catalog more closely, we see that we should be matching the following records: 2536 Digital Answering Machine with Caller ID Ans. Machine 28651 Digital Cordless Headset Phone Phone 3215 Dual Basic Headset Headset 3929 Classic Cordless Phone Cordless Phone 4826 Speakerphone/Headset Phone 7123 Fax Machine Fax Machine 8529 Conference Call Station I Conference Call The best solution may be to remove the "Default Catalog" option from the department properties window, as it seems to cause more trouble than it's worth. Most people believe they have to mark this box for each department they create, leaving the last department created as the default, root level, starting place for browsing and searching, causing frustration and a call to support when they do not see their departments on the website as exptected. Additional information: The query generated from the first submit when a Master Catalog is selected for the search results in this: select distinct * from IV00101 where ( ( ( ITEMNMBR > '1' and ITEMNMBR < '9000') ) or ( exists (select * from DCCatItems where IV00101.ITEMNMBR = DCCatItems.ItemNumber and exists (Select * from DCCatalogs where DCCatItems.CatItemsID = DCCatalogs.CatItemsID and CatMstrID = '23')))) and ((IV00101.ITEMNMBR LIKE '%2%')) order by IV00101.ITEMNMBR The second query generated when a department is selected for the search is: select distinct * from IV00101 where ( ( exists (select * from DCCatItems where IV00101.ITEMNMBR = DCCatItems.ItemNumber and exists (Select * from DCCatalogs where DCCatItems.CatItemsID = DCCatalogs.CatItemsID and CatSortKey >= '~~~~~00001' and CatSortKey < = '~~~~~00001~~~~~')))) and ((IV00101.ITEMNMBR LIKE '%2%')) order by IV00101.ITEMNMBR This appears to only search for items within that department and not any of the subdepartments, which is in-consistent with the query generated when using a MasterCatalog. Again, I believe only allowing a master catalog to be marked as the default is a great solution.
